Mayapur
Mayapur is the birthplace of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. It is located on the banks of the Ganges River, about 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of Kolkata. Mayapur is a major center of pilgrimage for Gaudiya Vaisnavas. The town is home to the Sri Mayapur Temple, which is one of the largest Krishna temples in the world.
Nabadwip
Nabadwip is the town where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu spent his childhood and youth. It is located on the banks of the Ganges River, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Kolkata. Nabadwip is home to many temples and ashrams associated with Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Some of the most notable temples include the Sri Chaitanya Math, the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, and the Sri Krishna Chaitanya Math.
Kalna
Kalna is a town located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of Kolkata. Kalna is home to the Jagannath Temple, which is one of the most important Vaishnava temples in West Bengal. The temple was built in the 16th century by Raja Krishna Chandra Roy, a devotee of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Shantipur
Shantipur is a town located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) north of Kolkata. Shantipur is home to the Ambika Kalna Temple, which is one of the most important Shakti temples in West Bengal. The temple was built in the 18th century by Raja Krishna Chandra Roy, a devotee of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Guptipara
Guptipara is a town located on the banks of the Ganges River, about 150 kilometers (90 miles) north of Kolkata. Guptipara is home to the Vishnupriya Devi Temple, which is dedicated to the wife of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The temple was built in the 19th century by Raja Harinath Majumdar, a devotee of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Mahesh
Mahesh is a town located on the banks of the Ganges River, about 180 kilometers (110 miles) north of Kolkata. Mahesh is home to the Srivas Angan, which is the birthplace of Srivasa Pandita, one of the most prominent disciples of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The Srivas Angan is a major center of pilgrimage for Gaudiya Vaisnavas.
