Early Life and Education

Mu was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, into a family with a deep appreciation for nature. From a young age, she spent countless hours exploring the lush rainforests of her homeland, developing a deep love for the island's diverse flora and fauna.

After completing high school in Trinidad, Mu moved to the United States to pursue her education. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a degree in Environmental Science. During her time at Berkeley, Mu became involved in various environmental organizations and participated in research projects focused on marine conservation.

Adventures in the Great Outdoors

Mu's passion for adventure has led her to some of the most remote and challenging environments on the planet. In 2015, she embarked on a solo kayaking expedition along the Orinoco River in South America. The 1,500-mile journey took her through dense rainforests, past indigenous villages, and across treacherous rapids.

In 2017, Mu joined an expedition to Antarctica, where she spent several weeks studying the impact of climate change on the continent's wildlife. She witnessed firsthand the melting ice sheets and the devastating effects on penguins and other marine animals.

Marine Conservation Work

After completing her undergraduate studies, Mu returned to Trinidad and Tobago and began working as a marine conservation officer for the Environmental Management Authority (EMA). In this role, she patrolled the island's coastlines, enforced environmental regulations, and educated the public about the importance of marine conservation.

In 2020, Mu founded her own non-profit organization, Sea Turtles of Trinidad and Tobago (STOTT). STOTT focuses on protecting sea turtle populations and their habitats. The organization conducts research, organizes beach clean-ups, and engages in community outreach programs.

Conservation Advocacy and Public Engagement

Mu is a passionate advocate for environmental conservation. She has spoken at numerous conferences and events, sharing her firsthand experiences and highlighting the threats facing the natural world. She has also used social media to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire people to take action.

In 2021, Mu was recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as a Young Champion of the Earth for her work in marine conservation. This prestigious award celebrates individuals under the age of 30 who are making a significant impact on environmental issues.
